2017 Mischief North Canterbury Pinot Gris
Winemaker Notes: There is plenty of fruit here, with pear juice and apples dominating the rustic complexity. A rich fruit salad palate, some zesty acidity, and a touch of sweetness make this wine positively jump out of the glass. Great with food or pretty much anything else. If mischief is afoot, this little number needs to be on hand.
Random Guy off the Street: It tastes a bit like drinking flowers, in a good way though. There is definitely some fruity sweetness and rich spice. This one would be perfect for serving to your friends with a spicy Thai curry and looking like a complete culinary snob.
88pts - Wine Orbit
It is beautifully ripe and fragrant on the nose showing baked apple, pear, lemon peel and spice aromas, leading to a succulent palate that is flavoursome and richly textured with subtle sweetness and refreshing acidity. The wine offers juicy fruit flavours together with elegant savoury complexity. Style: Off-dry. At its best: now to 2020.
