2018 Mischief North Canterbury Riesling
Winemaker Notes: True to style, with a hint of funkiness to go with those classic Riesling characters. Wonderfully fruited and complex with grilled peach, baked apple and honey. An intensely fruitful palate, beautifully supported by fleshy mouthfeel and subtle sweetness. Opulent and flavourful, how can you say no??
Random Guy off the street: This Riesling is even more refreshing than cracking open a stubby after mowing the lawns, it’s a bit sweet and a bit tangy, and I think I can taste some citrus. It’s also incredibly easy drinking and carries a high risk of turning a pleasant family dinner into a full confessional from your Mother in Law.
Wine Orbit - 91pts:
Wonderfully fruited and complex, the bouquet shows grilled peach, baked apple, honey and mixed spice characters. The palate delivers excellent fruit intensity and weight, beautifully supported by fleshy mouthfeel and subtle sweetness. It is elegantly opulent and flavoursome with a lengthy attractive finish.
Style: Medium-dry. At its best: now to 2022.
