2017 Mischief North Canterbury Riesling
Winemaker Notes: The 2017 Riesling has a lifted nose of lime juice, honey and lemon tea. A touch of sweetness on the palate is balanced by some tangy acid and funky complexity, giving way to an exciting finish, that jumps around in your mouth for longer than you would think possible. Ideal for a cheeky Sunday lunch, or a mid-week evening tipple.
Random Guy off the street: This Riesling is even more refreshing than cracking open a stubby after mowing the lawns, it’s a bit sweet and a bit tangy, and I think I can taste some citrus. It’s also incredibly easy drinking and carries a high risk of turning a pleasant family dinner into a full confessional from your Mother in Law.
Wine Orbit - 93pts:
A wonderfully fruited Riesling, the fragrant bouquet shows lemon curd, rockmelon and lime zest characters with an accent of toasty complexity. The palate delivers excellent fruit intensity backed by elegant sweetness and fine texture, wonderfully framed by vibrant acidity.
